Although a few weeks ago we were aware of the seriousness of the situation resulting from the spread of the coronavirus, its rapid arrival in Spain and Portugal and the increase in cases of infection in Europe caught most of us by surprise.

As companies, we have been obliged and have a responsibility to take organisational measures with the aim of minimising the effects of COVID-19 and safeguarding the health of our professionals, clients and suppliers, and their entire environment, especially taking the most vulnerable groups into consideration in light of this pandemic, such as our elders, who deserve for us all to come together in this collective effort to protect them, since they are the ones most exposed to considerable risks in the event of infection.

And in view of this exceptional and unexpected situation in which we find ourselves, at Kreston Iberaudit we have decided to adopt temporary and preventive measures to favour teleworking for our professional teams, which have the necessary instruments to continue developing their activity remotely with maximum efficiency, speed and security.

Fortunately, we have professionals with great adaptability, allowing us to face this challenge with greater strength. We will continue to move forward together, using and optimising all the digital tools available to our teams, in order to offer our clients the advice they need, especially during these times of uncertainty.

Our tax department will be able to resolve any doubts regarding new tax measures that may arise due to the state of alarm, such as the recent approval of Royal Decree Law 8/2020 on urgent and extraordinary measures in order to face the economic and social impact of the COVID-19, which we detailed in our last Fiscal NewsAlert, as well as the rest of the measures being taken by different authorities, which in these times are varied and of increasing complexity.

Likewise, our specialists in the labour area are actively working to advise all of our clients about taking the necessary and optimal measures to minimise, as far as possible, the effects of the health crisis that we are suffering.

Likewise, from the audit division we are adapting our work orders to the measures relating to the annual accounts and audit reports, which are also explained through our website.

We will continue working to keep you informed, keeping an eye on the future, with the hope of returning to normality as soon as possible and recovering contact with all of those who are now in the distance. Meanwhile we have to be patient and resilient. And above all, we must not fail to thank the dedication of the healthcare staff and all those people who are working to provide us with the rest of the essential services during these delicate moments, where we can only say: have courage, everything will be fine.
